Family Research
There are conflicting report as to where the family originated.  Death certificates are for Ireland but census reports state England.

The family came to America from England via Glasgow. The Matilda (McDougall) Sanderson was originally from Ireland.

Mystery Children

Two children, Alex & Eliza, ages 6 and 4 do not seem to arrive in America.  No deaths for either are recorded in the city.  They are not included in census data or wills for the family.
it is possible the children died on their voyage or belonged to a family member and were reunited with their parents upon arrival.

East Boston to Stoughton

I have to wonder if they picked Stoughton because of Deacon Robert Sanderson, who was there in the 1600's Is it possible that the 27 arches of land they has was connected?
  • Matilda (Latemar) - Birth Apr 1818 in England
  • Upon arrival the Sanderson's had a daughter, also named Matilda, she was in the 1855 Massachusetts Census.  She dies before she is 3 of scarlet  fever.
  • Robert Jr. Marries a girl named Matilda Latemar McDougall in 1879 making it fun digging up stuff. It is possible his mother's maiden name as also Latemar
    • Matilda Latemar Sanderson dies is 1891 in Boston
    • A Robert Sanderson Jr. Dies in 1891 as well - Their deaths are recorded on the same page.
  • James marries in 1882.  His wife is Emma J. Dunbar.  He is 36 and she is 30 years old.
  • William dies at age 36 - 5 Apr 1885 (Robert's Sr. son )
    • William's Cause of Death was Bright's Disease (Glomerulonephritis)
  • Robert Sanderson dies in 1895 in Boston.
  • Robert A Sanderson dies in Stoughton in 1911.  This place of residents aligns with the 1880 Census.  This is Robert Sanderson's that married Matilda McDougall.
