Letting Light In

The cottage lacks natural light in some of the rooms, but a bigger issue is that a number of windows can not be saved.

The front of the house has 2 broken panes of class on the lower 2 windows.

The bathroom has 2 basement slider windows that were installed sideways from what I can figure.

The bathroom also had a window that was covered over at some point.

The original plan was to buy simple windows from Building Supply Outlet in Peabody to be dressed up with Mullion to match the style of existing windows.

I also assumed I would only replace ones that can not be salvaged.  This might be a good time for a little good luck.

There is also a mystery 6/6 window in the back room.  There are 2 missing panes in the window and it doesn't have appropriate molding because it is so close to the bathroom addition.

The back room also has 2 casement windows.  They have original glass and hardware

The outer frame of both casements are completely rotted so they can not open or close.

Updates: 5/14/2021

In May of 2021 I got the luck that I was hoping for.  A family listed windows on Facebook Marketplace from their Victorian home that they were getting rid of.

I will keep you posted.
